Testamentary Wills
Why is it important to have a will or trust? Most people assume that a person’s assets and property will automatically transfer to the surviving spouse or children upon death. Although this may be true in most cases, it is not something to take for granted. Only with a clear, updated will can you be absolutely certain that no outside party can stake a claim as a beneficiary. By having an updated will, you can dictate exactly who your beneficiaries are and how assets should be distributed. With a will, you help your surviving family members avoid the frustrations and worry about turning your assets over to a probate judge to make critical decisions about distribution and property transfer.
Our firm can handle simple wills for individuals or married couples. The rates are low, but vary depending on the circumstances, assets, and the number of beneficiaries. We have a form for you to fill out before we meet to discuss the drafting of your simple will.
Powers of Attorney
Our firm can create simple powers of attorney for financial and health care decisions. These are used if a party becomes incapacitated (cannot make decisions for themselves), and they can assign to another individual the power to handle their affairs in the event they become incapacitated.
Make Sure Your Attorney Understands What’s at Stake for Your Family
